Since being founded in 1923, Mott Community College
has established a tradition of excellence. From academics to athletics,
from economic development to high technology, MCC is nationally
recognized as a leading force. As the Flint Journal stated
in a recent editorial,
“Mott Community College
is the backbone of higher education for Genesee County and beyond.”
MCC alumni have gone on to become
corporate leaders, international engineers, university professors,
doctors, scientists, artists and leaders in a hundred professions.
MCC alumni are judges, mayors, legislators and community leaders
at every level. They have created businesses, won patents, argued
court cases, and made communities healthier and safer for over
75 years.
MCC athletes have won national
championships and built a sports tradition unequaled by any other
community college in Michigan.
The work of MCC Fine Arts graduate Al Loving hangs in museums including the Whitney and the Smithsonian.
MCC alumna Sue Novara-Reber was the
National Bicycle Champion for seven years.
MCC graduate Clarence (“Kelly”)
Johnson designed America’s first production jet airplane.
MCC alumnus Don Riegle served in Congress
for almost three decades, including as Chairman of the Senate
Banking Committee.
More importantly, MCC has helped to build successful lives for
tens of thousands of individual men and women, one person at a time.
