The Regional
Workforce Development Consortium,
established under Mott Community College leadership in 1998,
is a ten-county Consortium representing Genesee, Huron, Lapeer,
Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair
and Tuscola Counties. It brings together partners representing
business, industry, educational/training institutions, workforce
development agencies, governmental entities, economic development
boards and chambers of commerce. Its purpose is to address
skill shortages and gaps in the regional labor market. The
skill shortages involve three areas of the workforce: Manufacturing, Information Technology, and Health.
The Consortium will also identify best practices
and establish methods to share information and resources to overcome
skill shortages and gaps.
Our Vision
The Regional Workforce Development Consortium envisions a regional infrastructure
that fosters a collaborative system, which connects the needs of the
workforce and the workplace in a regional context.
Our Mission
The Regional Workforce Development Consortium's mission is to strengthen
regional workforce development efforts and aid in closing the skills gap
between business, industry and worker needs in the areas of Information
Technology, Manufacturing and Health in Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Livingston,
Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair and Tuscola Counties. |
