Personal

Mr. Hayes has been with Mott Community College since April, 2011. Prior to this position, he has been in full time academic administration for the past seven years. Beginning in 2005 as Dean of Business for a small liberal arts college named Great Lakes University; he left GLU in 2009 to assume the Academic Dean position at ITT Technical Institute in Swartz Creek. Prior to his full time academia experience, Chuck was in the banking industry since 1987 where he achieved various levels of increased responsibility over his career. All the while, he was an adjunct Economics instructor for Rochester College since 2001, where his passion for developing students began. Dedicated to changing the world one student at a time, Mr. Hayes is always striving to improve what we do to educate students. Working to improve instructor relationships with students and always leading the charge to deliver what we promise to students (our customers).

Having been in industry (commercial banking) for more than 15 years before moving into education, he has a firm grasp on what the business world needs from our students, in addition, he has forged many relationships which still keeps him on the cutting edge of business demands.

The current initiatives for the Business Division are to enhance our student assessment tools, consider our capstone requirements, add an academic fraternity to campus (Kappa Beta Delta), and explore the possibility of adding internships to the business curriculum at Mott Community College.
