Welcome to the MCC Science & Math Division

The Science and Math Division offers courses and programs in the natural sciences and in mathematics. These courses help students develop skills in:

  • Thinking scientifically and mathematically
  • Using the scientific method
  • Applying natural laws and theories
  • Examining components of the living world
  • Determining the interaction of these components with the physical world
Courses offered by Science & Math may transfer to other colleges and universities and can be used toward the completion of associate’s degrees.

Additional Division Information

Scholarships and awards are available through the Science and Math Division. To apply for a scholarship go to Student Financial Services. To view a list of scholarships available visit the Foundation for MCC.

The Donnelly Courtyard - Visit the courtyard, an outdoor laboratory maintained by the Biology students and faculty.

Geology Museum - Visit the display of a locally excavated Mammoth, and other Geology Artifacts in the museum located in the Gorman Building.
The museum is currently closed.

 
   
     

Instructional Support Services


Math Empowerment Center - G2106
The MEC offers support for Mathematics classes and Division classes that require the use of math in the course materials such as Chemistry and Physics. Students coming to the MEC will be provided support by instructors or by peer tutors. Support for students is provided on a drop-in basis and not on an appointment basis. Tutoring may be provided to groups of students rather than strictly on an individual basis.

The Gorman Study Center is equipped with a computer lab and houses the Biology Study Models.
