Associate Professor/Graphic Design
Welcome to Art & Design at Mott Community College. My name is Mara Jevera Fulmer and I wear many hats in the Art Department. As an Art Professor, I am fulltime faculty member teaching Graphic Design and overseeing Graphic Design internships and Studio 205, the student-run Graphic Design Studio. I am also a working graphic designer and exhibiting artist, constantly growing and exploring new avenues of visual expression in the digital and traditional art so that I can bring those experiences back into the classroom. And as the Graphic Design Program Coordinator, I work towards the goal of keeping our program current in industry standards of technology and design, building relationships with business and industry, and creating links between high school, Mott, and four-year institutions. I also help you make informed decisions in planning and undertaking your studies in Art and Graphic Design with an eye towards your future success.
We have three great tracks in the Graphic Design program including:
- General Track- Prepares you for a wide range of creative and technical skills in Visual Communications, from print to web, illustration to advertising design.
- Illustration Track - Blends traditional studio art skills with commercial Graphic Design skills.
- Motion & Media Graphics Track - Prepares you for taking your Graphic Design and creative digital
media skills to the fields of motion graphics used in film and video.
If your plan is to any of these areas of graphic design, I have much to discuss with you before and during your studies here. The sooner we meet, the better I’ll be able to assist you in making the most of your studies in Graphic Design here at Mott. Below, you will find some important information to get you started. However, students are urged to meet with a Fine Arts Advisor in the Prahl Center to register for classes. If you’d like to meet with me to discuss Graphic Design program questions you may have, feel free to contact me through the Art office at (810) 762-0443. Be sure to visit us on Facebook and join the Graphic Design @ MottCC group community of alumni and current students! |
