"Miz Rosie" - Black History Month 2008

Rosie Chapman, or as she prefers ‘Miz Rosie’ came to MCC’s Student Life on February 19th as part of the Black History Month Events. Miz Rosie did a re-enactment of Harriet Tubman. The costume, props and story were mesmerizing. Miz Rosie has a Masters in Social Work and currently works in a high school as well as doing her ‘edutaining’ for Black History Month and art. Students, faculty, staff and community attended the re-enactment and seemed to really enjoy it. Miz Rosie picked people out of the audience to join in her story and she would feed them lines and tell them what to do. I think that we all learned something new about Harriet Tubman.

Thanks to Phi Theta Kappa for making it possible to bring Miz Rosie on campus! The students have asked for her to return next year!
