The Fall Rally was a resounding success! Sam’s Italian, who will be providing service at the new Bear Bistro, did the catering and the food was excellent. Jump On In! provided the ATV bounce house, it was loads of fun, even the most serious of us got in and bounced a bit. There were lots of airbrush tattoos being done – from fairies to superheroes. Ford Rental supplied tables and chairs so that this year we had enough tables for everyone involved.
There were 17 clubs that attended: LERN, Social Work, Transitions Cosmetology did mini manicures and had a wheel to win prizes like free haircuts, Cheerleaders, Ballroom Dancers, MCC Otaku, Travel Club, Gardening Association, Environmental Club who gave away light bulbs, MCC Chronicle, Monster RC’s, Connoisseur’s, Girls Night Out, GSA (Gay Straight Alliance), Theatrical Combat Club who did fighting demonstrations and a club that is just getting started: College Republican Club. Some of the campus offices that participated were: MCC Library with their book sale, Public Safety and Emergency Response Team, Counseling & Student Development along with Health Services, Learning Center, Mott Bookstore which did some lovely grab bags and had everyone talking about them!, Alumni Association, UM-Flint Transitions, EMU, FSU, Rochester and Cleary colleges.
Then we had our community supporters: Financial Plus played ‘Deal or No Deal’ – I played and won a sunglass clip for my car – yeah!!, Club 93.7FM talked to students and handed out some CD’s, Sam’s Club was here with giveaways and reduced memberships for students, The Flint Generals were here looking for interns for the year, Goodwill attended to inform the students not just about donations but all the other things Goodwill Industries do, ACORN provided voter registration, Bank of America did a brisk business educating students on bank accounts, Flint Institute of Arts provided information on their student program and Gamers Sanctuary had a very eye catching table set up.
