Mott Community College offers a computer literacy examination which may be used to fulfill Objective IV of the General Education Requirements for Computing Across the Curriculum (CAC). Students may also satisfy this requirement by passing one course with the Computing Across the Curriculum designation.

Meeting this requirement assures that students have the ability to use a computer effectively.

Eligibility Requirements
There are no prior requirements.

Test Cost
There is a $25 test fee, payable by check or money order. Registration and payment are made on the day of the test.

Schedule a Test
The test is given by appointment only in the Prahl College Center, PCC2010. Call 810-762-0372 to make an appointment. All students are allotted up to two hours to complete the CAC exam. A computer for testing will be provided by the college.

Skills Tested
Students must demonstrate the ability to use

• a graphic user interface (GUI), such as a Windows-type operating system;
• word processing software;
• presentation graphics software;
• e-mail to send, with attachments and receive messages
  
• an online research tool that utilizes the internet

Test Scoring
Students must score 100 percent on the CAC exam to test out of the CAC General Education Requirement.
