Dear Alums:
With more than 10,000 students annually, there is no question that MCC has a powerful impact on the lives of students and their families, particularly during these tough economic times.
Since Mott's early beginnings more than 80 years ago, thousands of individuals have improved their lives and lifetime earnings through the educational offerings at MCC. Our community is looking toward MCC to lead the way to a brighter future - whether it is for an associates degree, preparatory work for a bachelors degree, certification or re-training.
As President of the Alumni Association, the sheer numbers attending MCC doesn't surprise me. Having been raised in the Flint area and a graduate of MCC, plus having worked at MCC for over 20 years before moving onto another position within the community, I meet with individuals every day who have attended this school, many under one of the various names including Flint Junior College, Genesee Community College or Mott Junior College.
MCC is the most logical, practical choice to make for any household, especially in today's economic climate. Dollar for dollar, MCC provides an academic foundation second to none. Our instructors have proven themselves committed to the academic success of every student. Our community resources ensure that our students learn inside and outside the classroom.
I am proud of the education I received at MCC, as are the members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. We hope you are, too, and invite you to join the Alumni Association and/or at one of our many activities by calling (810) 762-0425. And don't forget to "Come Home to Mott" at our Homecoming on Friday, August 28th and Saturday, August 29th.
Sincerely,
Sue Lossing
