President
Michael J. Thorp, alumni class of '75, was elected Vice President of the Alumni Association in 2010. He became a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2009. He is a long time broadcaster who has worked in radio television and film and currently is the Writer, Producer and Host of the Genesee County Park's "Huckleberry Radio Hour," an Emmy award winning live radio variety show in the manner of "A Prairie Home Companion," and the "Grand Ole Opry." He also published the book The Great, Great Lakes Trivia Test in June 2010. Michael has been a television anchor, disc jockey, a talk show host, a play by play announcer, a video writer and producer, a copywriter, media analyst a radio and television newsman, a host, producer and writer of news magazine shows for Public Television and for abc television, and an advertising agency Creative Director. He also is an Eagle Scout, past Lodge Chief and a Vigil Honor member of Cuwe Lodge 218, a Silver Beaver and Wood Badge recipient. Michael currently is the Council International Representative and the Vice President of Program for the Tall Pine Council. He is a founder of the council's program that provides Scouting to differently-abled children. Michael is past President of the nationally recognized Flint Youth Theatre, a member of the Rotary Club of Flint, and a life member of the International Federation of Scouting Rotarians. He was a member of the Goodrich Board of Education for 17 years, serving as both President and Vice President of the board. Michael was a State Director of the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) and has served on several state committees. He has been recognized by the MASB with its Master Platinum Award, and by the National School Boards Association with their Distinguished Service Award. He was selected as a member of the 100 District Leaders for Citizenship nationwide by the National Center for Learning. He was honored to receive the University of Michigan's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2002, and, to be inducted into the Davison High School. Michael J. is a past national director of the Alumni Association of the University Michigan, Past President of the University of Michigan-Flint Alumni Society, and Past President of the Goodrich Educational Foundation. He currently is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Flint Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and a member of the Flint Human Relations Commission.

Vice-President
Vanessa G. Nelson, SPHR, CLRL, is founder, President and co-owner of Expert Human Resources Consultants, LLC, a portable HR Department, headquartered in Flint, Michigan. She has also been continuously employed by Hurley Medical Center for 20 years, holding the current title of HR Generalist. Academically, Ms. Nelson received her Master of Science in Administration/Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University, Bachelor in Business Management from Northwood University, Associate in Applied Science – Computer Occupations Technology, and Associate in Science from Mott Community College. Ms. Nelson is a Certified Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR), a Certified Labor Relations Leader (CLRL), and is Six Sigma White Belt certified. Ms. Nelson's professional affiliations include the MCC Alumni Board where she serves as Vice President, Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), Genesee County Personnel Committee Board, Swartz Creek Chamber of Commerce, and Master Minds Business Alliance.

Treasurer
Grace Glass, alumni class of '1990, became active with the Alumni Association shortly after graduation. "I truly enjoy working with the Alumni Association of my alma mater and working with the people serving on the Board." Grace remembers taking classes at Mott in the late '60s as a salaried employee of General Motors – many of her bosses by day at GM became her instructors by night at Mott. "I always felt comfortable learning different things and truly enjoyed the atmosphere." Grace was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and moved to Flint with her family in 1955. After she retired from General Motors, she worked as a substitute teacher for Flint Community Schools. She currently is President of Economic Development in Flint Township, is a member of the Youth Leadership Steering Committee, the Flint Institute of Music's Black Classical Music Festival, Flint Institute of Arts, the Urban League and Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Secretary
Sue Frownfelter, Staff, Foundation for Mott Community College As a professional writer for nearly 30 years, Sue has been employed as a reporter, editor and staff writer for various newspapers, magazines and organizations in Michigan. She currently serves as Special Events/Alumni Coordinator for Mott Community College. She also has served as the press secretary for the Mayor of the City of Flint, and has received top honors as a weekly columnist from the Michigan Press Association. Her work also has received acknowledgments for professional excellence from various organizations.
