Grayce Scholt

Grayce ScholtPoet, artist, art reviewer, editor and teacher, Grayce Scholt was born in Oak Harbor, a small town in Northwestern Ohio--its people and places the impetus of many of her poems. After working as a civilian truck driver for the U.S. Army during World War II, she graduated from Bowling Green State University and subsequently joined its English Department faculty. She did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Michigan, Oakland University and the University of Vienna in Austria. She taught English at Mott Community College from 1955 until her retirement in 1990. She lives in the East Village surrounded by books and friends, human and animal.
