Starting
in the 1960's, incoming National
Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Hall of Fame
Coach Ernie Myers fashioned a program that won 11 Conference
Championships, three Region XII Championships, and three top
Ten finishes in the NJCAA National Championship tournaments.
Today's team competes in the Michigan
Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA), one of the
toughest leagues in the Nation, and has gained a reputation as
being a contender for Conference, State and Regional titles.
The Baseball Team had one of its most successful seasons in 2007. The appearance in the Regional playoffs was the first in five years. The team’s batting average has climbed over 60 with an on base percentage of .400. The Bears were successful 88% on stolen base attempts. Also, the Bears had 13 players with an accumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Some of the players that received honors were: Bob Walmsley, 1st Team MCCAA, Erik McCloud, 2nd Team MCCAA, Jason Brzezinski, Joey Dotson, Ryan Hodges, Kyle Parsons, Andrew Silverthorn, Honorable Mention. Joe Hill set a new school record on stolen bases with 36 successful attempts!!! Congratulations!!!
