Coach Gillum wrestled for the U.S. Army. During his four year tenure as head coach at Clio HS his teams posted a 100-57 dual meet record, won 2 MHSAA District Titles, finished MHSAA Regional Runner-up 2X’s, produced 7 state placers, and one state champion. Clio teams won 9 tournaments and placed in the top ten at the prestigious Genesee County Tournament 3 years running. Not to be outdone by their accomplishments on the mat, the Clio wrestlers earned 2009 Team All-State Academic honors, as well as having 3 individual Academic All-State recipients. Nine of Coach Gillum’s wrestlers are presently attending college.
Hermon has two sons, Hermon II, who is attending Mott Community College, and Jalen. |
