The Women's Basketball program at MCC has become extremely competitive
and a factor in the community college scene at the national level.
The Lady Bears compete in the Michigan
Community College Athletic Association's Eastern Conference, as well as Region XII of the
National
Junior College Athletic Association. Each year the team
posts outstanding achievements:
- 2007 MCCAA
Women's Basketball Champions
- 2005 - 2006 Eastern Conference Champions
- 2005 – 2006 Region 12 Champions
- Advanced to the National tournament and won 4th place
The Lady Bears can boast a great legacy. In 2000-2001
they won the first conference title in the history of the college.
Head Coach Letitia
Hughley, former assistant coach, returns
as Head Coach for a second season. She is supported
by a well-seasoned staff: Lloyd Nicholson is in his 5th season
as the assistant coach for the Lady Bears and Latisha Berry is
in her third season.
