Barry Hershon, after six seasons as Assistant Coach, entered the 2002 season as the Bear’s Head Coach. He is a 1960 graduate of Flint Kearsley High School. While there, he earned 10 Varsity Letters in football, basketball and baseball. He also earned Conference honors and All-State honors in all three sports. In his senior season as the Hornet’s Quarterback, during their championship season, he was honored as a High School All-American.
Barry further played 15 seasons in the Flint AA Baseball League for Bishop Construction, earning numerous All-Star positions, and retired from active play in 1975 after Bishops went on to win the first ever Stan Musical National Championship. Barry’s coaching experience prior to Mott Community College was eight years as assistant basketball coach at Kearsley and two years as assistant basketball coach at Atherton. Barry is a retired supervisor from Delphi Flint West. He has three children and resides in Grand Blanc with his wife Earline.
