This degree is designed to provide the prospective hair care professional with the additional business and management skills necessary to help establish a successful small business. This state licensed program provides the required 1500 hours of specialized instruction and application of skills necessary to pass the State Board of Cosmetology License Exam. Students gain practical experience in a professional salon environment with real clients. Training includes job shadowing, educational field trips and mock interviews.
This state licensed program provides the required 300 hours for the Nail Technology & Esthetics Instructor, 500 hours for the Cosmetology Instructor and specialized instruction necessary to prepare for the Michigan State Board Instructor's licensing exam. This course prepares students for many careers: in teaching in public or private cosmetology/nail technology schools, owning or managing a school, platform artist, demonstrator, product educator or state board examiner.

This state licensed program provides the required 400 hours of specialized instruction and application of skills to prepare for the State Board exam for a specialty license in Nail Technology. As a nail technician you will improve the appearance of the hands and feet of women, men, teens and preteens. Students receive practical experience in a salon setting on campus, under the supervision of professional instructors.
