MCC ECLC utilizes the HighScope Preschool curriculum model with a strong emphasis on literacy, math, social skills, and creativity, striving to create an active learning environment where all children and families are affirmed and supported.

We believe that families are a child’s first teacher, and by partnering with the staff here at MCC ECLC plays a vital role in helping to carry out that mission!

The nationally accredited Mott Community College (MCC) Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is the home of the Mott Bear Cubs and provides high-quality early education and childcare for the children of MCC students, employees, and the community, ages 6-months to 5-years.

Empowering Children Celebrating Childhood

Our mission at the MCC ECLC is to create an active learning environment where each child's unique power of critical and creative thinking is nurtured and celebrated, and each family is welcomed and supported.

Located on MCC main campus in the Family Life Center, the ECLC becomes an ideal early learning setting for students and employees who are attending classes and working at MCC. There are a variety of funding sources to offset the cost of childcare including: DHHS payments, CCAMPIS grant, CFGF grants, the Great Start Readiness Program, Loans, and Pell Awards.

The Early Childhood Learning Center provides childcare services to MCC students and the community, while providing laboratory practicum experience to students in the Early Childhood Education Program. The ECLC also provides experiences for other Mott programs and courses including Storytelling and Dental Hygiene. Students gain practical experience under the guidance of the staff of the ECLC.
