Honors Program Holds Winter Retreat

Challenge Course

On February 7th, the Honors Program held its annual Winter “Team-Building” Retreat in the Regional Technology Center. 33 Honors Program students and two faculty members were on hand to complete various initiatives on the RTC challenge course. At the conclusion of this leadership development training, all participants were provided lunch and led through a debriefing regarding their experiences.

Honors Program Nominated for Local Children’s Champion Award

The Mott Campus Clowns were nominated for a Children’s Champion Award through the Priority on Children. The nomination was for the “Safe Places to Learn and Play for Children” category. On February 7, Dr. Ivory and two members of the clown troupe attended the annual awards banquet at the Riverfront Hotel.

The Mott Campus Clowns Prepare for Alternative Spring Break – on February 28th—as part of their “Dress Rehearsal”—the clown troupe will perform anti-bully shows at Linden Elementary and Boys and Girls Club of Flint. The following week, the clown troupe will travel to Philadelphia for a weeklong Alternative Spring Break. While in Philadelphia, the students will perform at numerous schools and Boys and Girls Clubs. They will also appear in the 144th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
