Honors Program Receives $3,500 Venture Grant – the Michigan Campus Compact awarded the Honors Program a Venture Grant to support the Alternative Break service trips to be coordinated as part of the HONS 251: Social Diversity and Civic Engagement Lab course. The funds will support Dr. Ivory and the HONS 251 students who will travel outside Genesee County to complete the service hours required in the new Colloquium: HONS 250.


Honors Student Charlene Fortner speaks to MCC Board of Trustees

Honors Student Receives Community Service Award - Charlene Fortner received the Commitment to Service Award from Michigan Campus Compact. More than 300 college students were nominated and Charlene was one of only six selected for this distinction. She was also the only community college student so honored. Charlene was later recognized by the Board of Trustees for Mott Community College (as seen in photo above). Congrats Charlene!

Honors Calendar Important Dates and Events

September 6—MCC Classes Begin. Sign up for HP courses through the honors coordinator. 
September 23—Honors Fall Retreat. All students must attend one retreat each calendar year.
October 1 & 2—MHA Annual Conference on beautiful Higgins Lake.  Space limited to 10 students.
November 11—Decide Your Major Before You Transfer. A career assessment workshop for all HP students to be held in the Mott Library.
