There are additional Calendars you can add to yours, in addition to other users on campus. On the Calendar page, at the bottom right of Other Calendars, Add a Public Calendar. The choices grow over time, so you will want to check back periodically. After you add them, you may need to click on Settings at the bottom of Other Calendars to activate or personalize these calendars.
After a calendar has been added to your list if you click on the calendar name it will toggle the visibility of that calendar's information in the main calendar view.
In the My Calendars pane select Settings. Under the Settings heading on the table select the a calendar's sharing state link to edit. Calendars can be shared publicly, only with other members of the MCC domain or with specific people.
Calendar - Export from Outlook / Import to Webmail
ExportOutlook Calendar
In Outlook, on the File menu, click Import and Export.
Click Export to a file, and then click Next.
Click Comma Separated Values (Windows), and then click Next.
In the folder list, click the Calendar folder, and then click Next.
Browse to the folder where you want to save the contacts as a .csv file.
Name the exported file calendar.csv, and then click OK.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
ImportCalendar into Google Gmail
Log on to Gmail, and then click Calendar at the top of the page.
The Calendar opens in a new window.
On the left hand side of the page, under “My calendars”, click on Settings.
Under Calendar Settings click Import calendar
Click Browse, and then navigate to the calendar.csv file that you created in the "Export Outlook Calendar" section of this article.
Select the file, and then click Import.
After your calendar is imported, a dialog box appears and displays the total number of events processed.
If you are in the middle of composing an email and you want to refer to an email message in your inbox, you can't hit the back button or you'll lose what you typed. To get around this, click on the New Window icon in the right top corner of the email composing window. This will put the new message you are composing into a new window allowing you to refer to another email on the other window.
When contacts are imported into Gmail, contacts with multiple email addresses will retain that information which is visible when a name is selected from the Contacts link. When composing mail and selecting the TO: link, the first listed email address for that contact will only be listed. To get around this you will need to create duplicate entries for each address you want to appear in the TO: list.
Contacts - Export from Outlook / Import to Webmail
ExportOutlook Contacts
In Outlook, on the File menu, click Import and Export.
Click Export to a file, and then click Next.
Click Comma Separated Values (Windows), and then click Next.
In the folder list, click the Contacts folder, and then click Next.
Browse to the folder where you want to save the contacts as a .csv file.
Name the exported file contacts.csv, and then click OK.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
ImportContacts into Google Gmail
Log on to Gmail, and then click Contacts at the top of the page. The Contacts list opens in a new window.
Click Import Contacts.
Click Browse, and then navigate to the contacts.csv file that you created in the "Export Outlook Contacts" section of this article.
Select the file, and then click Import Contacts.
After your contacts are imported, a dialog box appears and displays the total number of contacts imported.
NOTES:
Outlook Contacts without an e-mail address are not imported.
Outlook distribution lists are not imported. Gmail does not support distribution lists.
If an Outlook Contact that matches an existing Gmail contact is imported, your Outlook Contact information replaces the Gmail contact.
In Settings - Chat - My Chat History - Save Chat History enabled. When you place your mouse cursor over a contact name in your contact list and the fly out window appears select More on top right and Recent Conversations. A complete list of all chats and emails from that person will display allowing you to search for a particular message or chat specifically from that person.
If messages are threaded and you want to forward some or all of them to another person, you can click Expand All (on the right side). Note:Messages forward UP in a conversation: this means that if you have 5 messages and click Forward on message #3, messages 1, 2 & 3 will all get forwarded (not messages 4 & 5). You can delete any part of any of the messages that you do not want to forward and it will not be sent.
Down in the left side Labels box, clicking next to a label name will allow for a choice of color for the label as it appears in your email boxes to distinguish them from the others a little better. To increase the range of default color choices go to Settings -Labs - CustomLabel Colors. Be sure to "Save Changes" at the bottom of the Labs list.
everyone@lists.mcc.edu This will email everyone at the
college (students, staff, and faculty). students@lists.mcc.edu This will email only students at the college.
employees@lists.mcc.edu This will email only MCC employees (faculty and staff).
Keyboard Shortcuts Under Settings on the top right menu turn on the keyboard shortcuts and save your settings and a black arrow symbol will appear to the left of the individual email select boxes of your email list letting you know what email you were just reading so you don't lose your spot.
Filters
Under Settings on the top right menu – select filters and then –create new filter – to set up what to do with particular mail with particular criteria like applying a certain label when the mail arrives.
Additional Features
Features are added to the list or become available to users over time, almost like they are phased into your account. One of these is under Settings - Labs - Superstars where you can add extra stars to flag messages.
While composing email words which are misspelled will be highlighted with a red dotted underline. Spell check correction is not automatic. You have to click the link at the top right of the composing window - "Check spelling". After doing this all words that are misspelled will be highlighted in yellow. Click once on a word that is highlighted and a pop up list will appear with spelling suggestions. Choose one of the words or click "Ignore" at the bottom of the list to skip or manually change the spelling of the word.
Hit the Menu button, then click "Go to…" and you can type in this

There should be a link to download the app, and once its downloaded
it will probably ask if you want to run it.
After its done installing (and possibly rebooting your phone) when
you hit the Menu button for all of the apps, there should be one that
looks like a white and red envelope.
It will ask for your GMail username/password (append @mcc.edu to end
of your username).
To setup the calendar sync app:
Open the web browser on the Blackberry.
Hit the Menu button, then click "Go to…" and you can type in this

There should be a link to download the app, and once its downloaded
it will probably ask if you want to run it.
After its done installing (and possibly rebooting your phone) when
you hit the Menu button for all of the apps, there should be one that
looks like a G with swirly things around it.
The Google Sync app will open, and you can enter your
username/password and then hit the Sync button. It should then sync at
regular intervals (for your calendar).
