The Attendance
Costs scholarship is designed to assist Special Populations students
with their educational expenses, such as tuition, fees, books,
supplies, or necessary equipment, when all other sources of financial
aid have been exhausted.
You must first be a memeber of the Special Populations program before you can apply for the Attendance Cost Scholarship.
You must file a Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (Pell Grant) each year to be
considered for the Attendance Costs Scholarship. Income eligibility
will be determined by documentation.
A minimum Mott Community College GPA of 2.0
and abide by the requirements for Standards
of Acdemic Progress (SAP) listed on the MCC website.
Achieve satisfactory academic progress each
term as the award is made on a semester by semester basis. (A
separate application must be made each semester.)
Maintain contact with your Support Services
Coordinator at least twice a semester. Keep them informed of
any problems you may be having that would prevent you from attending
or successfully completing a class. Dropping a class after the
refund date without first notifying a Learning Center Coordinator
and exploring other options may render you ineligible for Attendance
Costs Scholarship for the nesxt semester. The
scholarship will pay for a course only once. Students are encouraged to use all
avaliable resources of the Learning Center to assist them in
making academic progress.
The scholarship will not be awarded for credit
hours in excess of those necessary to complete your vocational
program.
The Director of the Learning Center will
thoroughly review all documentation submitted by you and your
support service coordinator prior to making a final determination
on your award request.
