The 06/07 Reward Trip to New York City is one that we won’t soon forget! Twenty SSS members earned an invitation on the all-expense paid trip to NYC; four days and three nights in the city that never sleeps (and neither did we!) There was tons to see in New York and each day was packed with activities. Members received guided tours of the historical Apollo Theater and the United Nations building. Members visited Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Times Square, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the Empire State Building, the South Street Seaport, and Ground Zero. The students also had a chance to ride the subway and had a great time shopping in Chinatown, on 5th Avenue, and Broadway. Members were also treated to a Broadway performance of “The Color Purple” starring Fantasia Barrino. Ask anyone who went about the Italian restaurant Carmine’s or Sylvia’s Soul Food - delicious! New York City is a city unlike any other and has left us all with memories for a lifetime. Does this sound like something you would like to experience?
