Special Features

Outside Book Return

There are two outside locations to return books that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • On the north wall of the main library entrance
  • Drive-up book drop located in the parking lot northeast of the library building

Faculty and Staff Reading Room--ML 3008

The reading room is a comfortably furnished room with materials from three special collections: the CTL collection, the S&M professional development collection, and college teaching materials from the library's collection. The books may be checked out by faculty and staff at the Mott Library circulation desk on the first floor. If the door to the reading room is locked, ask at the CTL office or the Mott Library reference desk.

Presentation Practice Room

Current Mott College students, faculty and staff can take advantage of a new easy-to-use Presentation Practice Room in the Mott College Library (ML 2004). Users can create, practice and record themselves giving a presentation, and the recording can be played back and saved. The room can be reserved in advance for two-hour blocks, and walk-in use is allowed if the room is not reserved. To reserve the Presentation Practice Room call the Mott College Library Circulation Desk at 762-0403.

Group Study Rooms

Four group study rooms are located on the 2nd floor. Individual students may not use group study rooms. The rooms are available for group use of 2 – 6 students on a first come, first served basis for no more than 4 hours a day. Students must show their MCC ID and a photo ID at the Circulation Desk to check out a key to the room. Groups using the rooms must keep the doors closed to minimize disturbing others. Quiet Study

The second floor is a designated quiet study area, no talking allowed. Head phones are required when listening or watching multimedia on personal devices. Volume settings should be low enough that people studying nearby cannot hear the audio.  Quiet conversation is permitted on the first floor.

Viewing and Listening Stations

The Library has five TV/DVD/VCR monitors on the 2nd floor for students to view course materials. The use of headphones at these stations is required. Headphones are available at the circulation desk for two hour checkout.  For more information, ask at the circulation desk.

Copy Machines

   Copy machines are available in ML 1008, near the computer lab on the first floor

  • 2 sizes available: letter size (8.5" by 11") legal size (8.5" by 14")
  • $.10 per page with campus card
  • $.15 per page with cash
  • black and white, single sided copying only

Card Loader & Vending Machines

   In the Library Café, ML 1010, you can:

  • purchase a campus card to use for parking, vending, photocopies and printing
  • load your campus card or student ID debit card
  • purchase snacks and beverages from vending machines
  • purchase Scantrons, and other miscellanea

Pay Phone

A free pay phone (w/TTY) is available in the lobby entrance, limited to local phone calls only.
