This class will be an introduction to reading and interpreting blueprints as they are used in industry. This course will concentrate mostly on the mechanical (machine tool) side of blueprint techniques, although much of this iformation will also apply to architectural or electrical prints as well. The subjects covered will include ANSI standards, line types, orthographic projection, view placement, dimensioning and tolerancing standards, surface finish, assembly drawings, bill of materials, and revision standards. (One component of the Livingston County Machine Maintenance Certification Program.)
The GD&T portion of this course will cover all of the ANSI symbols and GDT systems and feature control organization. Form, orientation, true-positioning, runout, profiles and datums will also be covered. This course is a functional course providing the necessary theory and practice to understand and use the GDT that may be encountered on prints. |

| Advanced Welding Techniques |
Aluminum, Stainless Steel and all position welding of mild steel will be discussed and performed. Pressure vessel welding will also be performed, as well as a fabrication from a welding print. The importance of proper tack welding and weld sequencing will be addressed. Students will perform a "Pre-Certification Structural weld and analysis. Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of M-TEC Basic Welding Course |
