Mechanical Blueprint Reading
with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
This class will be an introduction to reading and interpreting blueprints as they are used in industry. This course will concentrate mostly on the mechanical (machine tool) side of blueprint techniques, although much of this information will also apply to architectural or electrical prints as well. The subjects covered will include ANSI standards, line types, orthographic projection, view placement, dimensioning and tolerancing standards, surface finish, assembly drawings, bill of materials, and revision standards. (One component of the Livingston County Machine Maintenance Certification Program.)
The GD&T portion of this course will cover all of the ANSI symbols and GDT systems and feature control organization. Form, orientation, true-positioning, runout, profiles and datums will also be covered. This course is a functional course providing the necessary theory and practice to understand and use the GDT that may be encountered on prints.

Intro to AutoCAD This course will teach the basic skill set necessary to produce 2 dimensional drawings in the AutoCad system. Topics learned will include how to draw lines, circles, arcs, and polygons. Drawing modification will be the next learning milestone, and will include trimming, extending, and adding fillets, chamfers, as well as stretching and deleting objects. The final step in any drawing operation is the description portion of the drawing, this would include learning how to dimension and add notes to the drawings using the AutoCad system.
