Introduction to Archaeology

Course Requirements: Prerequisite: Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030), or completion of RDNG-016.
Description: An introduction to the techniques, methods, and theories archaeologists use in interpreting the past and explores what archaeologists have learned about our human past. Students will also learn to apply this knowledge towards the interpretation of the material culture of prehistoric native cultures in the United States. Students will become familiar with archaeological research through readings, literature research, films, software simulations and hands-on laboratory exercise. This course combines lecture and laboratory components.
