Art History Survey Non Western Art

Course Requirements: Prerequisite: Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030), or completion of RDNG-016.Prerequisite: ENGL-101.
Description: This course will present a brief survey of the art of India, China, Japan, Africa, Meso-America and North America from the earliest times through the 21st Century. It will cover the painting, sculpture, architecture and minor arts of these areas as well as the cultural context in which the art was produced. Religion, history and customs will be explored to develop a better understanding of visual appearance as well as the significance of the art within its own culture.
