Description: This course introduces students to the investigation and prosecution of computer-related crime. It explores cyber offenses including identity theft, identity fraud, cyber terrorism, organized crime, exploitation of children and other criminal acts. Course topics also include international, federal and Michigan cyber crime laws, searching and seizing computer related evidence, processing evidence, report writing, forensic terminology and evaluation. Students will learn how to detect computer crimes and conduct cyber crime investigations. Recommended Internet knowledge and basic computer skills.
