The Steelheads are a percussion ensemble and steel band composed of students and professional musicians from Mott Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint. The group performs in over 50 events per year in the community and throughout the state.

Since 1997, the Steelheads have performed in over a dozen major venues across North America and Europe. (visit Steelheads History). The group is consistently recognized for musical excellence (visit Accolades).

The steel band curriculum was created at Mott Middle College High School — a program operated by the Genesee Intermediate School District. Students who advance through the Middle College program have the opportunity to audition for the Steelheads.
