Mott Next Summer Enrichment Program

Mott NEXT summer programming features a variety of half-day, full-day and one-week programs for Middle School and High School-aged students to explore topics from Crime Scene Investigation, Music Technology, Cosmetology, Foreign Language, Art, Video Production and Brain Camp.

“The summer programs are a great way for young people to explore what they are interested in on a deeper level than just reading about it or watching a video about it,” said Clark, “they will have a chance to experience it first-hand.”

Adventures in IT

Students learned a variety of computer-based activities and programming and explored the world of Information Technology!

Students experienced daily physical fitness; defensive tactics; crime scene investigations; traffic stops; patrol car simulator; first aid; blood splatter; active shooter; etc

Students experienced what it’s like to create art in a college art studio. They spent the week working with various faculty, learning studio processes and art media such as painting, sculpture, handmade paper, making artist books, and printmaking.

Experimental Psychobiology Lab: Brain Camp

Students tested their brain activity and received an EEG (Electroencephalogram) and Lie Detection (Polygraph). Students also learned research methods and psychobiological lab equipment used in Psychology!

Beyond Hair: Careers in Cosmetology

Students were introduced to Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail Tech programs. All participants also received a paraffin (hand) treatment, practice braiding, and toured the Esthetics lab.
