After joining the MCC coaching staff in 2016 as the assistant coach, Katie has since taken over the program for the 2017 season. Coach Naves is someone who is known for maximizing her players to their full potential and encourages positive attitudes on and off the court. She brings a high level of expertise and motivation to the volleyball program. With over 10 years of coaching experience, including AAU and high school level, as well as elite volleyball camps with MSU and All- American Volleyball. Katie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education while playing 4 years of volleyball at Central Michigan University.
She currently is teaching Health and Physical Education at Davison Middle School.
Alexandria Dowdall, joined the Mott Community College Volleyball team in 2017 as the Assistant Volleyball Coach. Ali was the Head Coach of Intensity Elite Volleyball from 2016-2017. While attending Troy University, she played as a Libero and was ranked nationally for digs both her junior and senior year. She also played 4 years of varsity volleyball at Davison High School where she earned the following awards: Wendy’s High School Heisman in 2012, All Region 2011 & 2012 and All State Honorable Mention in 2012. In addition, Ali played club volleyball for Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy, where she was part of the team that won the 2012 Junior Olympics for Open Division.
She graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor’s degree in American Political Science with a minor in both Public Administration and Public Relations.
