I am a proud graduate of Mott Community College (class of 1988, AAS Public Administration). I then attended Michigan State University, Spring Arbor University, and Walden University. Respectively my bachelor’s studies include secondary education (social sciences, multi-cultural perspectives), parks and recreation, and family life education. I was an adjunct counselor and advisor for 10 years before attaining full time status. Before coming to Mott I had a private counseling practice; worked as a caseworker for the State of Michigan; served as Education Coordinator for Head Start; led the Genesee County Urban League Community Education program; worked as a Restorative Therapist at various organizations in Genesee and Saginaw Counties; lived in Florida for nearly 5 years working at an in- patient mental health hospital specializing in crisis intervention.

My graduate degree is in mental health counseling, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and supervise new counselors with special emphasis in career development. I am a Certified Clinical Supervisor of Career Counseling and member of the National Career Development Association and also belong to the Michigan Academic Advising Association and the Global Community for Academic. I have presented “The Effects of Retention Alerts on Student Success” at Michigan State University for a Big 10 school consortium on Student Services best practices. My ABD is in educational psychology with an emphasis in online learning and curriculum. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision.

Kindra Conley is a full-time Academic Success Specialist member of Counseling and Student Development. Kindra is also an adjunct instructor in the Counseling and Technology Divisions. Kindra graduated from Central Michigan University with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. She also holds a PhD in Business Administration, Master’s in Education and a Master’s in Science.

Kindra is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) in the state of Michigan. As an Academic Success Specialist she focuses her attention on student success, retention, and completion. She is also the President of the Genesee Area Counseling Association. In her free time, Kindra enjoys outdoor activities, travel, being with her family and gaining more knowledge.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and over 30 years’ experience in Higher Education, which includes teaching. My areas of expertise include all areas of Counseling: Mental Health, Academic Advising and Student Retention. I am a highly trained student advocate, with a passion for providing students with the highest level of service.

Trisha received her Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Oakland University, Bachelors of Science in Counseling/Psychology from Rochester College and Associate of Applies Science in Early Childhood Education from Oakland Community College. She is a full time faculty member in the CASD Division, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and is a certified QPR instructor. Trisha has served on several committees throughout MCC including Curriculum Sub Committee, Developmental Education Steering Committee, Women in Education and has coordinated many efforts within the CASD Division. Over the years she has enjoyed presenting at local and national conferences in higher education. Trisha is proud of her efforts with the MCC CARE Team, mental health, and suicide awareness and prevention.

I am greatly appreciative of the opportunity to serve MCC and our students as a full-time Academic Success Specialist since 2013, and as an adjunct counseling faculty since January, 2009. I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and my Associate in Arts from Mott Community College. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors, and a Licensed School Counselor (K-12) in the State of Michigan. I am also a Clinical Counseling Supervisor for Limited Licensed Professional Counselors (LLPC) and am a past president of the Genesee Area Counseling Association.

At MCC I focus on instilling hope in the students I serve, empowering them in discovering, embracing, and achieving their academic, career, and life aspirations. This is primarily achieved through my expertise in academic and career advising/counseling, as well as teaching CASD courses, including: Survival Skills for College, Career Exploration, Interpersonal Multicultural Communications, Job Seeking Skills, Stress Management, and Study and Learning Skills.

Prior to working at MCC, I have 25 years’ experience in inpatient mental health and addictions treatment as a Clinical Therapist, Certified Addiction Counselor, and Behavioral Intervention Specialist. Additionally, I have 7 years’ experience as a middle and high school counselor with Flint Community Schools, providing unique insight in many of the students we serve.
