Alana (A-lain-a) Ferguson is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Mott Community College where she teaches accounting courses in a variety of formats: on campus, online and hybrid (a mix of both). Alana enjoys being part of the college journey with students. Knowledge and experience are essential to grow into the character we are meant to be.
Alana is a Mott Community College Alumni! Alana started her college journey at Mott Community College as a dual enrolled high school student. A few years later, she transferred to Walsh College to complete a Bachelor Degree in Accountancy and a Masters Degree in Accountancy earning highest distinction. She worked in accounting departments of manufacturing and commercial property management companies before working in public accounting in audit and taxation. Alana is a licensed Certified Public Accountant has been involved with the IRS sponsored tax site under the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.
Outside of work, Alana enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. They are active in their church, school and many sports. They especially love to enjoy the many Michigan seasons especially snowmobiling in the Upper Peninsula.
