Anne Gupton, L.P.C., N.C.C - Faculty - Counseling

I have been fortunate to work in higher education for 30+ years in Student Services beginning as a Financial Aid Scholarship Coordinator, moving to Student Employment & Career Resource Center Director, then onto Counseling & Student Development for the past 15 years as a Counselor/Faculty Member. I began a new position in 2015 as Program Coordinator - College Readiness Faculty and continue to teach student success courses. These classes include Survival Skills for College, Career Exploration, Human Relations Skills, Job Seeking Skills, etc. I earned a Masters Degree in Counseling from Oakland University and I am a Licensed by the State of Michigan as a Licensed Professional Counselor with National Certification.

I have been an advocate of incorporating digital products and e-books into classes to help students acquire and develop workplace skills through the use of learning paths and engagement activities. Real world examples and experiences are discussed and incorporated to prepare students for success throughout their lives.

I thoroughly enjoy the educational environment, working with students, collaborating with colleagues and learning. I strongly believe the keys to success are persistence and positive attitudes. My interests are health, wellness and being outdoors in the flower/garden enjoying family, pets and nature.
