Brian Littleton - Faculty - Psychology

Brian Littleton, PhD is associate professor of psychology at Mott Community College. He joined the faculty of MCC in 2014. He teaches several courses in the psychology department including PSYC 184: Exceptional People, PSYC 281: General Psychology, and PSYC 286: Abnormal Psychology. In 2016, he started a chapter of Psi Beta, national honor society for psychology in community colleges. Within a short period of the time, the chapter has been awarded several chapter excellence awards. Dr. Littleton maintains an active research agenda focusing on race-related stress among African Americans. He also a strong interest in psychological test construction and validation of assessment instruments across diverse populations. He also enjoys mentoring students and working with students to develop independent research studies.

Dr. Littleton earned his master’s degree in clinical health psychology and doctorate in counseling psychology from University of Michigan-Dearborn and Western Michigan University, respectively. He completed an American Psychological Association accredited predoctoral internship at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan. He currently maintains a part-time private practice with a primary focus on psychological assessment.
