Lisa Novak - Faculty , Accounting / Advisor

Lisa Novak is an Professor of Accounting at Mott Community college in the Business Division. Prior to coming to Mott Community College, she worked for many years in the non-profit and governmental accounting area as well as a few years in public accounting. Lisa received her Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Michigan-Flint with a major in Accounting and her M.S.A. from Central Michigan University.

Lisa is completing her Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA), with a concentration in accounting, at Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU). Her expected graduation date is June of 2022.

Lisa’s teaching interests include non-profit and governmental accounting, financial accounting, computerized accounting and cost accounting. She has developed new courses in non-profit and governmental accounting, computerized accounting, and business capstone. In 2014, she was awarded Instructor of the Year by the MCC Student Government Association for excellence in teaching and dedication to students and for making receiving an education an enjoyable experience.

Her primary research interests are in the field of utilizing Strengths for students. She has earned certification as a Strengths Advocate for Mott Community College.

Lisa resides with her family in Lapeer. In her free time, she enjoys walking, reading, and spending time friends and family.
