Social Sciences Award Information and Criteria
The Social Sciences Department offers awards to outstanding students in the fields of History, Early Childhood Education, Anthropology/Sociology, Social Work, and Psychology. In addition, the department presents an award to one student each year for their outstanding commitment to Humanitarian efforts.
- Ginger Edwards Social Work Award
Awarded to a student for their commitment to the high standards of the field of social work. Judged on their class performance and excellence in field work.
- Joe Perisa History Achievement Award
Awarded to a student for their demonstrated success in the field of History. Judged on their academic performance and completion of research essays.
- Psychology Award
Awarded to a student for their dedication to the field of Psychology. Judged on their completion of required Psychology courses, their academic achievement, and commitment to the field of Psychology.
- Wise B. Joseph Excellence Award: Anthropology/Sociology
Awarded to a student for their dedication to the field of Anthropology
or Sociology. Judged on their class performance and commitment to honoring the legacy of Wise B. Joseph.
- Meredith Mead Memorial Award For Outstanding Graduate of the Early Childhood Education
Awarded to a student for their dedication to the field of Early Childhood Education. Judged on their academic performance and field work in relation to the Early Childhood Education field.

Awarded to a student for their dedication to the improvement of the quality of human life for Mott Community College members and those of the community the college serves.
