Summary of Employment Laws for Employees
There are many federal and state laws that protect employee rights and regulate what an employer can and cannot do. The following is a summary of employment laws that may be applicable to faculty and/or staff at Mott. These laws are outside of and in addition to the terms of most of our Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please, note this document is a summary only, and is not intended to be a full description of any law nor is it intended to be an exhaustive list of all applicable laws. For more information regarding the laws summarized below, please see the applicable unit of government that regulates them.
For your convenience, these laws have been placed in five main categories:
