Mott Community College (MCC) Athletic Director Al Perry has been named the 2017 Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Athletic Director of the Year. The award is presented yearly to an Athletic Director who has distinguished themselves among their peers.

Perry was recognized for not just his contributions at Mott Community College, but for his contributions at the MCCAA level as well. He is the Vice President of the organization and the chair for both volleyball and baseball. He is also the Region XII Volleyball chairperson.

“Al is most deserving of this recognition,” said MCC President, Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea. “His dedication to providing our students with a high-quality college athletics program is unparalleled and his commitment to community college athletics at the state level is admirable.”

Perry oversees an eight-sport program at Mott Community College in addition to Student Life operations. He is the second Mott Athletic Director to win the award. Tom Healey won the award in 2001.
