A Community-Wide Open House
Try college for a day – for FREE! Mott Community College is hosting MCC4Free, a community-wide open house, Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the main campus in Flint. Come experience college for a day through dozens of mini-sessions taught by MCC faculty. Register online at www.mcc.edu/mcc4free
Topics include Casino Mathematics (the probability of winning and losing), Grammar Hammer (punch up your punctuation and learn some grammar trivia), Photography (how to take better pictures), Music Technology (how to mix it up!), Open Art Studio, Personal Safety & Self Defense, Weird Michigan (and it’s pretty weird!), Cosmetology, and more!
If you want to learn more about college and how to be successful in college, there will be mini-sessions for that too, including how to apply, financial aid info, study tips, and Workforce Development career pathways.
“We wanted to give prospective students and the community-at-large a taste of college, to better understand what we have to offer,” said Carla Clark, Academic Outreach Coordinator. “And we also wanted to give current students a chance to explore subjects they are interested in before signing up for a full class. It is a great opportunity for everyone to explore their interests and learn more about MCC.”
In addition to mini college classes, there will be giveaways, and refreshments.
