Workforce Development at Mott Community College (MCC) will co-host a Hiring Fair with the Lear Corporation and Aerotek Jan 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Regional Technology Center on the main campus in Flint. This event is free and open to the public.
“Lear is hiring for permanent positions in the Flint area,” said Robert Matthews, Associate Vice President for Workforce & Economic Development. “This is a great opportunity for people seeking full-time employment.”
Lear, automotive seating supplier to General Motors, broke ground on a 156,000 square-foot facility located on 33 acres of land off East Hamilton Avenue, at the former Buick City site in early October 2017. The company anticipates hiring more than 430 people for the seat manufacturing facility supplying General Motors' Flint Truck Assembly plant and employ 600 workers at full production mode by 2019, according to a Flint Journal article dated Oct. 2, 2017. The facility is expected to begin production of seats by April 2018.
LEAR is offering entry level pay of $13.85 per hour, with second shift incentives
of an additional $0.30 per hour, annual pay increases and low cost benefits on the
first calendar day of the
month after 90 days of employment.
• HS Diploma or GED
• Flexibility is a must - availability to work 1st and 2nd Shift
• Must be available to work overtime as required
• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hour shifts
• Must successfully complete DOI Job fit test. Once hired must pass a physical demands test, drug screen and required to undergo pre-employment background check
• Bring an updated resume to the Job Fair
Attendees should be dressed appropriately in professional attire and are encouraged to bring several copies of their resumes.
