Service Saturday: Service Saturday - Edible Flint

Join faculty, staff and students at the Community Enrichment Center at 322 E. Hamilton Ave., Flint on Feb. 23 from 9am-12pm to help renovate their "Community Center." The Center will provide residents with an opportunity to attend classes, rent the space for events, and other community programs. Volunteering tasks will include painting and organizing spaces and other tasks required to prepare the area for reopening.

Join edible flint and Mott Community College for a day of service at edible flint's new farm! We inherited this garden last year and have been working tirelessly to rehabilitate it. We need your help to get this garden going so it can produce free vegetables for Flint residents!Get ready to get your hands dirty and your boots on the ground- come dressed appropriately for gardening. edible flint will provide gloves, tools, supplies, a light snack and water for all volunteers. You'll be working along with edible flint volunteers, master gardeners, and local farmers ready to share their knowledge on vegetables and gardening with you as well as provide a hands on experience weeding, watering, preparing beds, transplanting and starting from seed. We will also have an opportunity to help paint some informational signs to be posted around the farm for more creative types.
MLK Day of Service: Project Linus Blankets for Children

Location: Event Center, Mott Community College
Want to do something meaningful on MLK Day 2018? Please join us for our Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service project here at Mott Community College. Together we will make no-sew blankets for Project Linus which supports local children and families in need. No experience necessary! The service project will take place from 10-1 on Monday, January 15, in the MCC Event Center adjacent to the Mott Library. Lunch is provided.
This unique service opportunity is made possible with generous support of our campus Phi Theta Kappa chapter. We need fifty (50) volunteers and hope you can join us for this worthwhile endeavor. Toys for Tots
Saturday, December 8, 2018 – 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: 4425 S. Saginaw St., Flint
Join the Toys for Tots organization to assist in sorting, organizing, and packing toys during their busy time to prepare for Christmas distribution. (Volunteer duties are subject to change.) Plan to arrive by 9 am and volunteer through noon. Toys for Tots - Genesee Country, 4425 S. Saginaw St., Flint. They are located in the old UAW Local 581 Union Hall, directly across the street from Hurley Health & Fitness (in the new GM Tech enter - old Fisher Body plant). Parking is adjacent to building; enter though the double doors at the rear of the building. Upon entering (upstairs), ask for Vicky. Max. groups limited to 10. Minor children 10 & up welcome. Child must be accompanied by an adult (one child per person).
