Degree Description

The Music Technology program focuses on the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the field of music production, recording, and audio engineering. The curriculum integrates a diverse offering of courses involving music creation and music post-production, music scoring for media, and live sound reinforcement, with insight offered by music fundamentals, ensemble performance, and music business courses. Emphasis will be placed on technical, logistical, and creative work in addition to gaining the skill sets required to be professional, reliable, and competitive in today's music technology and sound engineering job market.

Graduates will find many opportunities for professional employment, both in Michigan and nationally, including recording studios, television and radio stations, post-production/mixing and mastering companies, schools, churches, and local businesses. Students may also continue their education by transferring to a four year university.
