The vehicle – a Factory Five MK V Roadster – is being constructed at the Factory Five School located within the Regional Technology Center at Mott Community College. Factory Five is the world’s largest manufacturer of kit car components. The Mott Community College Factory Five Build School is a hands-on, three-day workshop where students build a Factory Five MK IV/MK V Roadster or ‘33 Hot Rod from the bare frame all the way up to the complete rolling chassis in three days! Since 2002, the Build School has graduated over 6,000 students from the U.S. and all over the world.

In 2025, MCC’s President challenged her Executive Cabinet members to help build a Factory Five car as a team-building exercise, with the eventual outcome that the vehicle would be sold at auction and the proceeds donated to The Foundation for Mott Community College to support students.

The Roadster is currently in the build stage. MCC is now seeking sponsorships from companies, organizations, and individuals to help us get it over the finish line and put it up for auction, with the ultimate outcome of helping Mott Community College students to enroll and graduate from MCC.

The “Start Your Engines...for MCC” campaign is offering multiple sponsorship levels with a wide variety of benefits – from $100 and up!
