The Friends continue to do “good works” for the Mott Library. They help meet the needs of the students at Mott Community College. An opportunity to share a love of libraries reflects in the commitment of the Friends of the Mott Library. Many items have been purchased using funds from the Friends. These include detection systems, artwork, leased book collection, preservation materials for archives, and much more.
Library Collections
Best Sellers
The Friends of Mott Library provide a collection of popular fiction and non-fiction books through the Baker & Taylor’s book leasing program. New titles are added monthly to the ‘Best Sellers” Collection. This Friends purchase allows the library to offer popular books that would not be possible to acquire with the library budget. We leased 92 book this year.
Audiobooks
47 audiobooks were added to our collection in 2017/18
Retiree Honorary
The Friends of the Mott Library honor MCC retirees by purchasing a book for the library collection. College retirees are asked to select a book that has special meaning or interest to them. This benefits the students of MCC by adding to the library collection. This past spring, we gained 18 retiree books.
