Raise a Flag

Faculty you can help support students in your classes. Faculty see students regularly and are in direct contact with students. A student might tell you they are experiencing a barrier, or it may manifest in the student not attending class or missing assignments. By using the Early Alert system in MyCompass you can get a student to their success coach for triage.

Faculty and staff can raise an academic flag for a student if there are concerns about the student’s ability to be successful in class. Examples include if a student is not attending class or is in danger of failing. After raising a flag, it will be assigned to the appropriate coach for follow up.

Anyone who works at Mott can make a referral for a student to meet with a success coach. This referral would be for wrap around support and services (non-academic in nature).
