Funding Options for Childcare

Department of Human Services DHS

MCC ECLC will accept child care assistance payments from DHS however, the parent is responsible for any child care charges not paid by the Department. He/she also has to pay for the cost of any care provided while the parent is not involved in Authorized Activities for child care services provided before being authorized for child care or prior to training completion.

Child Care Access Means Parents In School CCAMPIS

CCAMPIS grant awards will be automatically applied to MCC student-parent recipient’s child care accounts. The CCAMPIS grant funds will be applied according to the determined sliding scale of 85, 75, 50 and 35% tuition.  Student-Parents will be responsible for any remaining child care tuition not covered by the CCAMPIS grant funds.

Loans

MCC student-parents may designate that certain loans be applied toward child care costs however, the parent is responsible for any child care charges not paid by their loans. Loan funds will be applied to the child care account at the beginning of each semester.

Pell

MCC student-parents may designate that Pell award funds be applied toward child care costs however, the parent is responsible for any child care charges not paid by their Pell grant.  Pell award funds will be applied to the child care account at the beginning of each semester.

ECLC Student-Parent Scholarships

Thanks to a generous donation from the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, currently enrolled MCC student-parents may be eligible for an ECLC Student-Parent Scholarship to help cover the cost of child enrollment at the ECLC.

Out-of-Pocket Cash Payments

Cash payments may be made at the cashier's office and MCC payroll automatic deductions may be set up for MCC employees
