Students’ Privacy

Mott Community College operates under Act No. 442 of the Public Acts of 1976, the Freedom of Information Act and the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. Freedom of Information Act requests should be made to Human Resources (CM1117) or [email protected] and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act requests should be made to the Office of the Registrar ( PCC2020).

Every effort will be made to protect students’ privacy. Students who do not want any information released about them should complete the login required Request to Withhold Directory Information form and submit to the Office of the Registrar. The form must be turned in within the first two (2) weeks of each semester.

Under tightly controlled confidential conditions, students social security numbers may be used to gather data for the purpose of improving instruction under the requirements of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act (Section 113) and the, Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (Section 122). In no event will your personal information ever be released.

Students should leave a copy of their class schedule with family members and others who may need to contact them. Class schedules will not be released to anyone other than the student.
