Services Available to the Community

Mott Community College serves as a vital community hub, offering low-cost, professional-quality services, personal enrichment and professional growth opportunities open to all area residents.

Personal and Community Services

  • Transitions School of Cosmetology Full Service Salon and Spa: Professional and affordable hair, skin and nail care services performed by MCC Cosmetology students under expert instructor supervision.
  • MCC Dental Hygiene Clinic: Preventative dental care, including cleanings, X-rays and sealants, provided by MCC Dental Hygiene students under licensed dental professional oversight.
  • MCC FabLab: A hands-on digital fabrication laboratory offering local entrepreneurs, makers and residents access to 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC equipment and technical expertise.
  • Applewood at Second and Saginaw: A student-operated fine dining venue in downtown Flint showcasing advanced culinary preparation, baking and restaurant management.
  • MCC Culinary Arts Institute Events and Catering: Professional catering services and modern event spaces hosted within our state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Institute.
  • Durham Wellness and Physical Education Center: Community access to fitness facilities, group exercise classes and personal training options (once the Physical Education Activity Course has been completed), focused on regional health and wellness.
  • Mott Bears Athletics Events: Free or low-cost admission to home games and events across MCC’s 11 intercollegiate athletic teams, including men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, wrestling, volleyball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf and e-Sports.
  • MCC Event Venue Rentals: Versatile facility rentals, including auditoriums, meeting rooms and athletic facilities, available for civic, corporate and private events.
  • MCC Library: Open community access to extensive print and digital research collections, computer workstations and educational resources.
  • Employment Services: Access to the College Central Network when registered as a community member.

  • MCC Lifelong Learning: Non-credit community education classes, personal enrichment opportunities and community perks such as Senior Gold Cards.
  • Applewood Lecture Series: Engaging educational lecture series tailored for community members and senior citizens eager to continue learning.
  • Youth Summer Programs and Camps: Interactive and low- or no-cost summer camps and educational enrichment activities designed to inspire K-12 students across science, arts and technology.
  • Mobile Learning Lab: A 48-foot, state-of-the-art mobile classroom and tech lab that brings hands-on workforce training, computer access and career resources directly into local neighborhoods and employer sites to eliminate transportation barriers.
  • Factory Five: An innovative hands-on space providing specialized educational technology, skill-building and collaborative community projects.
  • Corporate Services and Workforce Training: Customized workforce development, corporate training solutions and professional certification programs tailored for local employers and business growth.

  • Early Childhood Learning Center: Convenient, high-quality on-campus childcare for MCC students and staff.
  • Venkat K. Rao Mott Eats Food Pantry: On-campus food assistance ensuring no student has to choose between basic needs and their education.
  • Ellen's Closet Clothing Pantry: Free professional attire and essential clothing options for interviews, class presentations and daily needs.
  • Mental Health Support: Professional, confidential counseling services and mental health support programs.
  • Mott Care Team: Accepts anonymous referrals regarding individuals in distress or whose behavior raises mental health concerns, student's safety and well-being or that of others
  • Disability Services: Customized accommodations, adaptive technology and accessibility services for students with documented disabilities.
  • Adult Student Success Services: Tailored advice, orientation and coaching designed for non-traditional and returning adult learners.
  • Veteran Services: Dedicated guidance navigating GI Bill® benefits, military credit evaluations and transition support for service members and veterans.
  • Mott Fostering Student Achievement: Provides support and resources to current MCC students between the ages of 16 and 30, and have been in foster care, guardianship, kinship or relative placement.
  • Student Emergency Fund: Foundation- and employee-supported emergency grants (up to $1,000) for active students facing unforeseen non-academic crises, such as housing, utility shut-offs or essential vehicle repairs.
  • MCCEA Faculty-Sponsored Book Loans: Short-term emergency loans sponsored by faculty to help students purchase required textbooks and course supplies at the start of the semester.

  • Peer Tutoring: One-on-one and small group tutoring across core subjects, led by qualified student peers.
  • Science & Mathematics Study Center: Dedicated space featuring drop-in tutoring, practice materials and collaborative study groups for STEM courses.
  • Writing Center: Personalized assistance for all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming to final revisions across all academic disciplines.
  • World Languages & Cultures Center: Specialized study tools, software and conversational practice for language courses.
  • Mott Library: Expert research assistance, interlibrary loans, digital database access and quiet study spaces.
  • Academic Advising: Comprehensive guidance on program requirements, course scheduling and university transfer pathways.
  • Computing Support and Chromebook Loans: Technical helpdesk assistance, computer lab access and semester-based Chromebook loans (including charger and bag) to eliminate technology barriers.
